1972: La Zagala de los Altos, SA de CV is established by Juan José González Pérez and his wife Esperanza Jiménez de González in San Juan de los Lagos. The production begins in a small establishment where Cheeses, Cajeta de leche, Jamoncillo and Jamoncillo were made by hand. Thanks to the aspiration and vision of Juan José and Esperanza to industrially produce typical products of the region, the micro-company begins the construction of its industrial facilities,

1978: La Zagala de los Altos begins to manufacture in its current address, where a variety of dairy and fruit products are now industrially produced including Cajeta and derived products, Wafers with Cajeta, Alfajor, Cocadas, Rollos de Guayaba, Ates and Tamarindo, Ham, Palanquetas, Honey and Cajeta without Added Sugar.

1985: La Zagala de los Altos expands the distribution of products to markets in northern Mexico, in cities such as Tijuana, Ciudad Juarez and Laredo, which gives rise to exploring the possibility of exporting to the United States.

1990: La Zagala de los Altos products began to be sold in Illinois, California and Texas through local distributors, who imported these products to the United States.

2004: La Zagala de los Altos begins to directly export typical products to the United States, giving it a greater presence within the Hispanic market.

2012: La Zagala Imports, Inc. is founded in order to provide direct service and attention to our clients and thus ensure a greater reach in the US market. La Zagala Imports now has a strong presence in the states of California, Oregon, Washington, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico and Colorado.

2017: La Zagala de los Altos invests in modernizing its manufacturing facilities and equipment to obtain ISO 9001-2008 certification. This renewal process enables the production of new and better quality products.
